Carrie Tanenbaum is an acupuncturist and herbalist with more than 20 years experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is licensed in the state of California and is Board Certified in Oriental Reproductive Medicine.
Carrie holds a BS in psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder where she concentrated her studies on the intimate mind-body connection. In addition to her formal education, Carrie's interest in the mind's influence on healing led her to meditation, yoga and Eastern philosophy.
In 1989, Carrie traveled to India where she apprenticed with the esteemed Dr. Yeshi Dhondon, physician to the Dalai Lama. Witnessing the power of Traditional Tibetan Medicine and committed to continuing her education, Carrie journeyed to Sri Lanka where she worked in a community acupuncture clinic.
Profoundly inspired by her experiences in Asia, Carrie enrolled in the esteemed Yo San University in Los Angeles where she earned a Masters Degree with highest honors in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Thereafter, seeking to hone her clinical skills, Carrie returned to the East, this time to do advanced studies at the Luzhou Medical College and the Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, in China.
Carrie has been in private practice for over 20 years. Her unique approach to healing involves a blend of Traditional Chinese medicine, nutrition/lifestyle guidance and education. Believing strongly in the powerful dynamic between patient and practitioner, Carrie creates a gentle and supportive environment in which to heal. Her personal passion for living a healthy and peaceful lifestyle inspires and empowers her patients to realize their greatest potential for health, happiness and vitality.
